Maintenance of Firewater Pumping Systems:
Hydrocarb Trinidad Limited played a significant role in the HSE arena as it supported the maintenance of BP’s firewater pumps on their offshore platform facilities and land-based process terminal facilities. Hydrocarb’s Engineering Services Division supported by its Operation’s Division, uninstalled and transported submersible pumps such as Vertical Inline Turbine Pumps, to its Machine Shop where pumps would be initially evaluated and reports submitted to client for approval for repairs.
Repairs:
Repairs consisted of fabricating flanged columns, machining and repairing Discharge Heads, rethreading, turning and balancing of stainless steel shafts, building up and machining of impellers and fabricating filter baskets. Upon completion, the Engineering Services Division would install and commission pumps for acceptability by BP personnel. Hydrocarb also offered rental pumps as replacements during the periods when repairs were being conducted on its client pumps to ensure minimal downtime for critical facilities.
